By Capt. Daniel Seymour, who arrived here last Week from Curacoa, we have Advice, That the Spanish Privateers & Guarda Costas, are very busy about that Coast, taking all the Vessels they can, without Respect of Persons; that one of the Curacoa Sloops coming up from Aruba, was taken by one of them, and carried off; whereupon the Commander at Curacoa caus'd two Spanish Schooners and two Sloops, which came in there, to be seized as Reprisals, on Board of which were Effects and Money to the Value of 40,000 Pieces of Eight; and Proclamations were read off just before Capt. Seymour left Curacoa, ordering four stout Vessels to be immediately fitted Out, with full Orders to cruise against the Spaniards, and to take or destroy all they met with.
We further hear, that Capt. Ramadge, in a Sloop of this Port, bound to Curacoa, is taken by one of those Spaniards, and carried into the Magarittas, with several other Vessels whose Names we have no Account of.
