Full Text

Philadelphia, February 2.

An Epidemic. Last winter a very alarming and fatal disease prevailed in Connecticut which the year before had committed dreadful ravages in the State of Vermont. Accounts from Albany, Herkimer and other inland towns of New-York inform us that a similar and equally fatal disease prevails in those places. If we were correctly informed this disease is at our very door and has caused many deaths in Camden, N. J. whence some patients are said to have been removed to this city, and we do certainly know that some of the most respectable practitioners in this city are apprehensive of very serious consequences. Quere? What are the powers and duties of the Board of Health, or have they any in this case. Press.
