SYMPATHY FOR IRELAND.
The radicals have been trying to wheedle the Fenians with professions of great sympathy for oppressed Ireland, yet they are obstinately denying to the South all representation in the councils of the nation. Ireland is represented in the British Parliament—the South is not only denied a place in the government, but abused and stigmatized as less entitled to decent treatment than the negroes. Who so dull as not to see that the Radicals are more vindictive against the South than the British rulers are against Ireland? Some of the English editors would eradicate Fenianism as they did the cholera pest. Stevens and his crew are animated by the same devilish spirit.
