That Name.-When the news of the nomination of Polk and Dallas reached Louisville, one of the more enthusiastic locos started up town, shouting hurra for Polk and Dull ass! Another was heard shouting for Polk and Tall ass!! And another for Polk and All ass!!! And one in this town for Polk and Bal ass!!!! Dull ass-Tall ass-All ass and Bal ass. We think it clearly demonstrated that George M. is a perfect Jack Ass.

Hon. Geo. McDuffie has resigned his seat in the United States Senate. The New York Tribune says he goes into the Legislature of South Carolina, with Mr. Pickens, there to carry through a law to tax all Northern Manufactures brought into the State.
