SCHOOLS OBSERVE CONSTITUTION DAY

Thursday, Sept. 17, was observed with appropriate exercises in our schools, in celebration of Constitution Day, the programs being sponsored by the Maryland Society Sons of the American Revolution.

Constitution Day, celebrated throughout the United States, commemorates the completion of the work on the document on September 17, 1787.

The convention to write the Constitution was called to meet May 14, 1787, but a quorum was not secured until May 25. The work was completed September 17.
