In Boston, the Big Gun Columbus was fired 93 times recently. Loaded with 25 lbs. powder and a 182-lb. shell, elevated to 35 degrees, the shell landed 3.5 miles away, buried 5 feet in rock, and exploded, creating a 12-foot pit and hurling large rocks. The 10-foot gun's shot could destroy a ship. Humorous note on 'Mr. Mexican' avoiding such 'pills'.
