Aged Tombstoner
Sent to Poor Farm

The board of supervisors granted
permission yesterday to another fam-
iliar figure about the streets of Tomb-
stone to enter the county poor farm
at Douglas by the name of Samuel
Foganini, owing to old age and being
unable to provide for himself the
necessities of life. He has been living
in this city for many years, is famil-
ilarly known as "Napoleon," is about
65 years of age, and a Frenchman by
birth, having arrived in the United
States 45 years ago. It is said by
those who know him that during his
early life he was independently rich
but during the panic of the early 80's
lost his entire fortune, at which time
he was a resident of Chicago, and
came west shortly after in hopes of
recuperating his losses.
