ATTRACTS THE PUBLIC

The Age-Herald's Story of Yesterday Gives Satisfaction—President McLaren on His Rounds of the District.

The Age-Herald's account published yesterday morning of the presence here of President Daniel McLaren and Director W. J. Lippincott, of the Addyston pipe and iron foundry, of Cincinnati, attracted great attention throughout the city and district.

Accepting President McLaren's story as told to an Age-Herald reporter as being true, as it undoubtedly is true, the public based its faith upon the establishment of a great industry, with a large capital and employing a great number of men.

There can be but little room for doubt that a large branch plant of the Addyston company will be built here. President McLaren is here for the purpose of selecting a site, and it is believed that he will finally settle upon a location for his enterprise tomorrow.

Mr. McLaren and Mr. Lippincott yesterday visited several points of interest in the neighborhood, and were guided by officials of the Tennessee Coal, Iron and Railway company, the Sloss Iron and Steel company, and by others interested in the development of the district.

The visitors are expected to remain here probably till Tuesday, and will spend the intervening time in seeing the various localities, and in perfecting arrangements for their plant. M. V. Richards, industrial agent of the Southern railway, who was with the visitors, left for the east yesterday, having spent a longer time here than he originally intended to spend.

President McLaren will resume tomorrow his tour of inspection of the district.
