"Steps Ahead in National Recovery" is to be the subject of an address by Henry I. Harriman, national chamber president. Fred W. Sargent, president of the Chicago and Northwestern Railway company will give his views on "Taxation and Current Expenditures" and James A. Farrell, formerly president of the United States Steel corporation will outline why we need foreign trade.
Other speakers will be Fredrick J. Koster, president of the California Barrel company on "Public Works and Public Ownership"; Jerome Landsfield of San Francisco on "Trade Relations with Russia"; William V. Hodges of Denver on "Future Mining Policy" and A. Schleicher, president of the Samson Tire and Rubber company will talk on the industrial codes. In addition special attention will be given to the retailers' code, the lumber code, and the petrole code, the agricultural adjustment act, and our relations with the orient.
This is planned to be one of the most representative and largest gatherings of its kind yet held in the west and the meeting will serve as a medium for chambers of commerce and trade associations in focusing western opinion on national business legislation, Hays states.
