"According to Letters from Warsaw, the great and important Affairs relative to the Regulation of the Limits of Poland with the three allied Powers is going to be settled in earnest, the Commissaries appointed by the Republick having received their final Instructions. We learn, from good Hands, that Count de Branicki, Minister from the Court of Warsaw at Petersburg, having complained heavily to the Empress of Russia of the Proceedings of the King of Prussia, in extending his Acquisitions in Poland beyond the stipulated Limits, her Imperial Majesty has written a Letter to the King of Prussia, to desire him to desist from such Proceedings, in Order to put an End to the Complaints upon this Subject. His Prussian Majesty returned for Answer, that the Complaints of the Court of Warsaw were ill grounded; that he had done nothing more than was consistent with Justice, and his own incontestable Right; and that he wished for nothing more than to avoid all Complaints, by settling the Limits upon a just and solid Footing."
