TWINS BORN IN STREET.
Pittsburg Policeman's Hurry Call for Ambulance Too Slow.

"Take me to a hospital," cried a 24-year-old Polish girl to Policeman Schultes, in a side street on the south side of Pittsburg. There was agony in the girl's voice. Schultes hurried to the nearest patrol box and sent in an ambulance call.

While he was gone the stranger sank to the sidewalk and gave birth to a healthy male baby. The ambulance was not in sight and the thermometer hovered around 15 degrees. Schultes hastened to a house nearby and shouted for one of the women within to come and help. When he returned to his patient there were two boy babies instead of one.

All three are out of danger at the South Side hospital. The mother said she was homeless and had walked several miles in search of friends who would care for her.
