Full Text
A number of complaints have come to The Pioneer relative to drivers of bolt hauling trucks "hogging" the highways and in one or two instances recently this alleged practice has resulted in quite serious injury to persons in the cars which are crowded off the road. Taking up a large portion of the road at best, complaints have been made that the bolt haulers sometimes make little or no effort to give up a fair portion of the road to the lighter cars which they meet, with the result that the lighter car is forced to "hit for the ditch" and frequently suffer damage to car and injury to occupants. Persons who have been subjected to this treatment by bolt haulers have reason to be up in arms and they promise punishment to the full extent of the law whenever they are able to cause the apprehension of such drivers. Hauling of bolts is an important industry in this section, but the bolt hauling trucks are entitled to no more of the road than other vehicles.-Bemidji Pioneer.
