EJECTED FROM CAR
Several of the Russian officers of the Russian cruiser Lena were indignant at the Rapid Transit Company yesterday because of a rather rigid enforcement of the new regulation which does not permit the carrying of boxes, baskets, etc.
Eight or nine officers and five or six ladies who are returning to Vladivostok on the cruiser came ashore and at 1:20 waited on the corner of Fort and King street for a Waikiki-bound car.
Four sailors carried the grip sacks for the party.
The ladies boarded the car and stowed away their children, while the officers went on with the baggage.
One officer unfortunately was burdened with three suit cases and was settling down into a seat when the conductor rudely ordered him to get off. The officer did not comprehend and the conductor once more ordered him and his luggage off the car. The ladies took their indignation and the third time, when the conductor moved toward the offending officer, he debarked and called a hack.
