Full Text

Baltimore, April 15.

We are happy to have it in our power to state that by arrangements made by Major General Smith, his means and power to furnish Arms, &c to the whole body of the Militia of this Brigade, is now ample and complete. The General will thus be enabled to render his system of defence commensurate with the zeal, activity and patriotism which he has manifested in its progression, as far as already brought into operation.

It is with pleasure we add, that the U. States and State authorities have co-operated in sanctioning the views of the General; and at this period resources are so organized, as to prepare the free men of this Division, to give the enemy an honorable and efficient reception. Independently of the force of our own immediate district, 2000 of the Maryland quota are ordered into service.
