Every street in the city, from the Naval Hospital to the Submarine Base, was sprayed with DDT last night by Alberto Camero, county prison guard, who drove the county truck, using the city's sprayer and the Navy's dope.
"Until the sprayer came along I could not live in comfort out where I live," said Circuit Court Judge Aquilino Lopez, Jr., today.
Camero said the spray is very effective against mosquitoes.
Then up came a new truck delivered to the county this morning. It is a Chevrolet 1½/2-ton dump truck, with a stake body and equipped with a hydraulic arrangement for dumping.
"I'll sure give the mosquitoes the dickens with this new truck," said Camero.
The truck cost the county $2,497.
