Full Text

The assertion made in the London Gazette, that the French have at this time no flag lying in any part of the East Indies, is a species of that effrontery with which government have so long insulted the publick. When, and by what means were the French disposed of the island of Mauritius, the grand arsenal of their cation for fortifications? Is nothing to be apprehended by us from the Malays, who, tired out by the French, have already cut off Col. Lallie, with 2000 Europeans? The Ministry would fain have things well done somewhere, and think any lies of the East Indies will do, because people cannot so easily go there to enquire.
