Full Text

Charles-Town, (S. Carolina) July 31. On Sunday last his Excellency Lord Charles-Greville Montagu, with his Lady, son and daughter, and Miss Wragg, daughter of the Hon. William Wragg, Esq; embarked on board the Ship Beaufain, Daniel Curling, master, and sailed the same evening for London. His Lordship was attended to the water-side, by his Honour the Lieutenant-Governor, the members of his Majesty's Council, Major Chisholm, and many other Gentlemen; and was saluted by a discharge of the cannon, as he passed the several forts. The sentiments of affection to his Lordship, contained in the address both of his Majesty's Council, and the Commons House of Assembly, which have been presented to him, may, with truth, be said to be those of the whole province, and justly due to his many amiable qualities. By his Excellency's departure, the government, for a fourth time, devolves to the Honourable William Bull, Esq; Lieutenant-Governor, whose administration has been ever agreeable to the colony, and approved by his Royal Master.
