At yesterday's board meeting of the Alaska Crippled Children's Association in the Iris Room of the Baranof Hotel, Mrs. Vance Blackwell was elected to the board of trustees and to fill the office of secretary, in the place of Mrs. Oren Cleveland, who has resigned.
The board also voted to buy a modern wheelchair for the Orthopedic Hospital at Sitka, it to remain at the hospital. This will be purchased from the Alf N. Monsen Memorial Fund.
Mrs. John McCormick was appointed publicity chairman for the remainder of the year, and Mrs. G. M. Ferguson of the Douglas Island Woman's Club, will be responsible for celebrations for children in the hospital whose birthdays are in March.
Word has been received that 1,000 ACCA cookbooks should be received here from Ketchikan in the next few days.
Mrs. John Newmarker, president, presided at the meeting. The next one will be held December 3.
