Full Text

The draft, we are informed, was postponed from Monday to yesterday.
Grand Haven has furnished her full quota of men, and rumor says, four to the good and will be applied on the deficiency of other towns in this sub-district.
Spring Lake, we are informed, lacks only one man to fill her quota. Later intelligence says that Ottawa County has furnished her full quota. Now is the time to look out for the draft of the fifth of January next. Soon vessels will be discharging their crews and the mills will stop operations for winter. By a little pains-taking sailors may be secured for the naval, and hands about the mills for land service, and placed to the credit of our own and other sub-districts of the County. Let us be wide awake in the matter, and enjoy the honor still of doing our whole duty, voluntarily, toward the Government in its call for men to put down the rebellion.
