PATRONS' MEETING

At the invitation of the teachers a number of patrons of the high school met at the Court House Wednesday evening May 2nd. An informal program was given by those present. Attorney Elliott Chenoweth and Rev. G. Farmer made brief but inspiring talks for the patrons. The principal, Mr. Kisling, reviewed the work done by the school for the past year and outlined the program that should be carried out for the school in the future. Mr. Chenoweth spoke of the importance of the patrons lending their support to the school and the wonderful opportunity offered to the people of the county and especially those near the school. Rev. Farmer complimented the citizens on their splendid building which is nearing completion. He also spoke of the social in connection with the school. The matter of paying for the piano was discussed for a few minutes. The unanimous way to be paid is by the town having a festival. Those present voted that the citizens of the town should pay the balance due by popular subscription. This is to show the people of the county that Grantsville greatly appreciates the fact that the high school is located here. The following girls have been named to solicit subscriptions: Eloise Stump, Ruth Jarvis, Katherine Witt, Geraldine Jackson, Gladys Weater and Dell Bice. It is hoped that the people of Grantsville and community will avail themselves of the opportunity to help with their contribution to the piano fund. People, of Grantsville, why not show the other part of the county your appreciation and pay the bill?
