THINK MISS NAGLE MAY LIVE
Young Pennsylvania Woman Closely Guarded at the Hospital.
Erie, Pa., Sept. 15.--Last night the physicians in attendance on Miss Edith Nagle, daughter of Millionaire T. M. Nagle, who tried desperately to end her life by cutting her throat with a carving knife, for the first time think that she has a chance to recover.
She is closely guarded at the hospital for fear that she will tear open her wounds and bleed to death. Remorse at her failure to end her life as planned seems to be her principal feeling. She also regrets that she has brought disgrace on her father.
None of the family is able to advance any reasonable theory for Miss Nagle's action. She was rather secluded in her life, but had all that money can procure to make her happy. She had no love entanglements, and the commonly accepted theory is that she was temporarily insane as a result of hysterics.
