BETHUNE ELEMENTARY
On last Thursday morning we held our first assembly program. The principal greeted old and new pupils. The principal impressed upon the pupils the importance of working together in harmony with their teachers.
Our visiting teacher, Frank Rivers, PTA president, Mrs. Howell, along with the old and new members of the cafeteria custodial and instruction staff were introduced.
Congratulations are extended to Mrs. Mary Nesbitt, who is now cafeteria manager at Phyllis Wheatley Elementary. Mrs. Nesbitt is greatly missed at Bethune's lunchroom.
We welcome Mrs. Elizabeth B. Wallace as a member of our cafeteria staff. Mrs. Helen Jackson, another member of our cafeteria staff is now employed as a member of the Bunche Park Junior Senior High School cafeteria staff.
Our first PTA meeting will be held Tuesday, Sept. 17 at 8 p.m. in the cafetorium. All parents and friends of the school are urged to be present.
We extend our deepest sympathy to Mrs. V. Silva and Mrs. Ann Rivers during their sorrow of loved ones.
