"The Liverpool still remains in the road, but the Kingfisher is gone to sea.
June 11. I intended to have sent by land, but the Tories have cut off that communication. Last evening the Kingfisher returned with a brig, Capt. Walker, from Wilmington, but before the pirates boarded her our brave Capt. Barry had, in sight of the Kingfisher, taken out some powder and arms. This day a brig came into the road, but cannot learn who she is. You will please to inform the Congress of the proceedings of the Tories at the head of our county, as I think there will be occasion for some troops from upwards to quiet them. They are breaking out in a surprising manner."
