Full Text

A very recent arrival from Boston confirms us in the satisfactory intelligence, that the Merchants, Traders, and even Mechanics, have resolved to take every operative measure to preserve a perfect and honorable neutrality during the disturbances of Europe ; and as they term it, not to have any thing to do with high-sea-robbery, commonly called Privateering. In consequence, the state of Massachusetts issued orders to recall a small Privateer that had sailed: which vessel was returned when these advices came away.

Our letters further say, that there is not the smallest doubt, but the other states would follow the example of Massachusetts, although Citizen Genet did not actually grant letters of reprisal, ere he delivered his credentials to Congress.
