Philadelphia, October 1.

WARD ELECTIONS.

Yesterday an election took place in this city for 28 inspectors of the ensuing general election. The federal ticket has succeeded in 10 wards out of the 14 wards into which the city is divided, by the unprecedented majority of 800. The following are the wards which have returned federal inspectors, viz. Upper Delaware, Lower Delaware, High street, Chestnut, Walnut, Dock, New-Market, South, Middle, and North.

In the Northern Liberties the democratic ticket succeeded by a majority of only 55 votes.
