And HARRY MILLER,

Resolved, That the proceedings of this convention be signed by the President and Secretary and published in the Burlington Free Press.

FRANCIS WILSON, Pres.
WM. Weston, Secretary

The nomination of Messrs. Van Sicklen and Miller, seems to give very general satisfaction. There is an almost universal disposition to sacrifice local and personal considerations on the altar of the country's cause,

This is as it should be, and we have no reason to doubt that the result will be triumphant.

We have heard of but one complaint against Mr Allen in his official capacity, and that is that he has obtained a pension for a man who headed a company of volunteers at the battle of Plattsburgh. This is no doubt a grievous offence in the estimation of Gov. Chittenden's followers.
