Portland, November 21. C. H. Knight of Bethel, who has been buying largely of wool, left nearly two weeks ago for Boston to sell what he had purchased. He has been heard from several times and is expected from day to day by his creditors, but has not yet arrived. There is a report that he is in New Hampshire buying wool. His liabilities are estimated at from $30,000 to $40,000, due partly to people of whom he has bought and partly of lenders. He was a deacon in the Methodist Church and highly esteemed in the community.
