NEWPORT BROKER ARRESTED.

Edward L. Ducette, the Newport, R. I., broker, who was arrested at New York last night on a warrant from Newport charging him with perjury, was arraigned there today and held for extradition.

The warrant against the broker is said to have been issued as the result of an investigation instituted by the attorney general of Rhode Island into a court case with which Ducette was connected.

During the trial, it is said that Ducette swore that certain books he produced in court were the original books concerned in the transaction but later a bookkeeper swore that they were not the originals but a set on which she had been working and had completed on the day of the trial.
