Faces Execution For Pa. Slaying

PHILADELPHIA, -(NNPA.)-

Mrs. Corrine Sykes, 20-year-old house maid convicted of the murder of her employer, Mrs. Freda S. Wodlinger, will be executed in the week beginning Monday, April 29. Governor Martin Friday last fixed as the date for electrocution.

Mrs. Wodlinger was stabbed to death in the bathroom of her home, 6305 North Camac Street, on December 7, 1944.

Corrine's lawyer, Raymond Pace Alexander, asked for a new trial following her conviction of first-degree murder last March 17. The State Supreme Court upheld the death sentence on Jan. 7.
