Hon. A. Kauhi Comes to Time.
Yesterday Mr. Henry Smith, Clerk
of the Supreme Court, Hon. A. Rosa
and J. M. Kaneakua, visited Oahu
Jail, where in their presence, the
Hon. A. Kauhi, member elect of the
Legislature for Ewa, executed a quit
claim deed to plaintiffs in the case of
Mahoe et al. vs. A. Kauhi, which was
a bill in equity praying that said
Kauhi be declared a trustee for
plaintiffs in relation to a piece of
land at Ewa, the purchase of which
was negotiated by the defendant.
Kauhi was committed to jail on the
6th of March for contempt of court
in refusing to execute and deliver
the deed and has been confined there
ever since. Having complied with
the order of the Court he is now free.
