Quarters for about 27 students and faculty members have been arranged on the third floor and portions of the second floor of the former Frederiksted Hospital. Present plans provide for the arrival of the group from the United States on the 30th of December, 1957.
A rental agreement for the quarters mentioned was signed on the 31st of October, 1947, by Mrs. Marian N. Nihlen, Secretary of the Kennebec School, and by the Honorable Mrs. Niblen has been in communication with the Honorable Alva D. McFarlane, Administrative Assistant for St. Croix, who has been instrumental in making facilities available. Mrs. Pearl Byrd Larsen, Superintendent of Secondary Schools, and Mr. Albert O. Fabio, Administrative Assistant, Department of Education, cooperated in arrangements thus far.
The Department of Public Works began minor repairs and renovations on Monday of this week, in order that quarters might be ready for occupancy on December 30th.
