FIRE WHICH STARTS IN THE
MORENI PETROLEUM DISTRICT
CAUSES HEAVY LOSS.

BUCHAREST, Nov. 3.-A loss estimated at $5,000,000 has been caused by fires which are spreading from one oil well to another in the petroleum district of Moreni. The fire started yesterday with the explosion of a large well and spread through the whole valley and along the hillsides which were today a mass of flames. Over 25 wells were alight, all burning furiously. Fighting the fire has become very difficult as most of the wells are in eruption.
