Reorganized for the Campaign.

The republicans of the first district met at Douglass hall, Hillsdale, D. C., Tuesday night, and reorganized for the campaign. F. Douglass, Jr. was chosen president. Dr. George W. Fisher vice-president, P. W. Shippen secretary, and Thornton Slaughter treasurer. Mr. Douglass, on assuming the chair, made a stirring speech for the republican nominees, and was followed by Dr. George W. Fisher in a similar strain. Resolutions were passed indorsing a thorough canvass in the southern states, and for the erection of a Garfield and Arthur pole and banner.
