'Politician With Experience'

Wilberforce, Ohio (ANP) - Associate White House Secretary Andrew T. Hatcher last week refuted his introduction as "an outstanding journalist" when he addressed a "Journalism Day" audience at Central State college.

Speaking under the auspices of the Alpha Phi Gamma Journalistic fraternity and the Central State College press club, Hatcher told his audience he felt he was "only a politician with journalistic experience."

He called President Kennedy, "a man who demands the shortest sentence between two ideas." and likened the President to Abraham Lincoln.

Despite Hatcher's preference for titles, the fraternity presented him with a plaque labeling the speaker an "American Journalist," and the press club presented him with a book by Central State president, Dr. Charles H. Wesley, "The Negro in Our History."

Hatcher told his audience. "We cannot afford to be swayed by faint hearts or trigger fingers."

He cautioned against some of the perils of complacency and rashness in both national and international affairs.
