A SUIT FOR LIBEL.-A suit at law was entered yesterday by Messrs. Brown & Murdock, as attorneys for Dennis O'Neil, against the Washington Critic for libel, claiming $20,000 damages. The injury complained of is that on the 8th instant the Critic published the following: "A housebreaker arrested.-Dennis O'Neil, a ship calker, was arrested at 5 o'clock this morning by Sergeant Mulhall and Officers Bank and Allen for breaking into the store of Milo Sweeney, corner of Eleventh and East Capitol streets. The prisoner when captured had in his possession about 500 cigars and a large quantity of beer." This statement he says has injured him to the extent of the amount claimed.
