Two Other Waycross Negroes Injured When Car Falls From Bridge Into Creek
WAYCROSS, Jan. 23.-Rosa Lee Johnson, negro woman of Waycross, was instantly killed and two negroes, a man and a woman who were with her at the time were injured though not seriously, when the car in which they were driving went off "Sixty-Foot" bridge on the road between here and Blackshear Saturday night at 8 o'clock. Just what caused the car to leave the bridge, carrying most of the railing with it, is not known. The car landed in the shallow water of the canal, which flows under the bridge. It was found that the woman was submerged under water with the wreckage above her, but the force of the fall is believed to have been the cause of her death.
