The Reno Journal says: The initial appearance of the dreadful blackleg on Blaisdel's ranch, whereby A. J. Smith lost a fine cow, was noted a few days ago, yet in the short interval its ravages have spread terribly. On Halligan's ranch thirteen head of cattle have died from the contagion, and two other ranchers, whose names Mr. Smith cannot state, have lost nine and two heads. respectively, besides more to hear from. Mr. Halligan is so apprehensive for the safety of his remaining animals that he has removed them to the mountains.
