One day as I was walking,
I heard the winter breeze,
Come running down the mountain
And thrilling all the trees.
I stopped and looked and listened,
But then I saw no one,
So then I turned around,
And my work had just begun.
Just at the time I started off,
The breeze began again,
I didn't stop to look this time
For I thought it was the rain
I ran home to tell my mother.
About all my fear,
Oh! My dear child,
That's only the wind you hear
So you may go out to play again,
Out in the winter breeze,
That comes down the mountain,
And thrills all the trees.
One day as I was walking,
I heard the winter breeze,
Come running down the mountain
And thrilling all the trees.
I stopped and looked and listened,
But then I saw no one,
So then I turned around,
And my work had just begun.
Just at the time I started off,
The breeze began again,
I didn't stop to look this time
For I thought it was the rain
I ran home to tell my mother.
About all my fear,
Oh! My dear child,
That's only the wind you hear
So you may go out to play again,
Out in the winter breeze,
That comes down the mountain,
And thrills all the trees.
