Did you ever see a little girl who didn't want to look pretty?

We haven't! Girls are style conscious at a very early age.

To satisfy this desire for fashion with no sacrifice to comfort, here are some vacation hairdos for the sub-deb set. All are designed for coolness. All use rubber bands to hold them in place, and flowers and ribbons add the pretty touch.

Cool and saucy is the pony-do.

Brush the back hair to the crown, then the front hair. Brush and brush until all hair is smooth, then bind it with a rubber band.

This style will stay neat all day through vigorous play.

Part heavy hair from crown to nape. Gather each side section of hair to spot just above ear and fasten with a rubber band, then cover band with flowers or ribbons. Notice how the bangs are cut back beyond the hairline.

This gives more width to forehead, more depth to eyes.

Mothers should remember too that clean hair is cool hair. Frequent shampooing is necessary during the vacation months when out-door play allows extra dust and perspiration to collect on the scalp and hair.

Fine hair can be kept free of tangles if it is styled close to the head. Here, the hair is parted on the side and diagonally down the back. Each side section is brushed tight to a spot back from the face, but in line with the temple where it is bound with a rubber band. The ends can be straight or curled.

Braids are glamorous, particularly when they are tied with fresh stiff ribbons, and when the hair ends are curled. Be sure to keep parts straight. Redo them every day.
