BEVERLY HILLS, Jan. 15. (Special)—I never thought the time would come when I thought I would be able to advise colleges how to run their business, but in California Sunday we saw our first real professional football played, and came away raving about it. Especially the rules under which they play, where you can pass from anywhere, any time.
Now, as football is not only the backbone but the gravy of college existence, you fellows better open up your game, for the pro. game was just made for an audience. No penalty every minute to keep an audience sore, nobody getting hurt every play, referees not in the way of the players. Colleges have developed the yelling, but the pros. have developed the game. Now you colleges wake up, I don't want to see you have to close up your doors.
Yours,
WILL ROGERS
