Arrival of the Steamer Cambria.

TWELVE DAYS LATER FROM EUROPE,

Parliament Adjourned.-More Failures--Money Market Easier--Reduction in rates of interest-Breadstuffs Advanced--Cotton Firmer--Rice Improved &c.

The Royal Mail Steamer Cambria arrived at New York yesterday afternoon late, The telegraph wires having been broken, her news was brought to Philadelphia by mail and despatched thence at three o'clock to us by telegraph. She sailed from Liverpool on the 1st inst., and therefore brings 13 days later news than we had by the Caledonia.

Parliament adjourned during the holy-days. The general news is of not much importance.

The money market was considered easier, though there have been more heavy failures. The Bank of England has now in her vaults twelve and a quarter millions of bullion, and has reduced her rate of interest to 5 per cent.

Among the failures mentioned are the Messrs. Sands of Liverpool--Also Messrs Coleworth, Pryor & Powell, and Messrs. Durand & McKenzie.

Flour.-In Liverpool there was some fluctuation in the flour market. Prices had declined after the departure of the Caledonia, and again rallied, and at the sailing of the Cambria fully regained previous quotations with an advance of fully one shilling on finer sorts.

The general aspect of the market was more favorable. Indian Corn has slightly advanced-Wheat has also improved from two to three shillings per 70 lbs., and Corn one to two shillings per 480 lbs. or quarter-Corn Meal 16 shillings per barrel.

Cotton.-The Liverpool cotton market exhibited an improvement. The stock on hand is comparatively light and the quality not good. The quotations by the Caledonia are fully sustained.

Carolina Rice sold at 25s to 25s 6d, which is an improvement.

The provision market exhibited no special change. There was a fair demand for pickled meats.

No general political news of striking moment.
