St. Jago de la Vega, (in Jamaica) October 25.

A French Frigate of 32 Guns, was sent into Port Royal on Thursday Afternoon, being taken by the Boreas of 28 Guns, after an Engagement of two Hours and 20 Minutes, wherein a great Number of French were killed, as were also two or three on board the Boreas.

Tis said that two other Frigates were drove ashore, and burnt by our other Men of War in Company with the Boreas and Lively, one of which is reported to be Chatelain's Ship; and that she was entirely loaded with Indigo & Sugar.

The Ships on the Jamaica Station still continue to take the Vessels from the Mount, & while the Vessels from Jamaica, go to and from Hispaniola, full loaded without Molestation.
