On Saturday afternoon the police arrested a young man named Stroud on suspicion of having been concerned in the robbery at Tatnall's flour store on Thursday afternoon.
The facts of the robbery briefly stated are about as follows: During the absence of one of the firm at bank two men entered the store at different times and got two $10 bills changed. Shortly afterward, a third party entered and asked to purchase some feed. The clerk took his supposed customer to the back part of the store, to look at the feed. The man was very particular in regard to the quality of the article he desired to purchase, and kept the clerk engaged for some time examining upon its qualities. While thus engaged a confederate entered the office and rifled the money drawer of about $25, and then escaped. The supposed customer also left after he thought his pal had escaped.
The man who was arrested was taken before the clerk, but as he failed to identify him, was released.
