By the politeness of the marshal, we are enabled to lay before our readers the aggregate of the population of Washington, as ascertained by the census, which is just completed.

The population at the census of 1810, was 8,208
Increase in ten years, 5,114
Being an increase in the ratio of more than 60 per cent in the ten years, or 6 per cent per annum. But the increase in late years has been greater. In the winter of 1818-19, say eighteen months ago, the population as ascertained by a census taken under the authority of the corporation, was 11,299.
Increase, 2023; or at the rate of 12 per cent per annum.
The returns for the rest of the District are not yet completed. The total population of the District will exceed 30,000 souls.
