T. B. TAKES HEAVY TOLL

The whole world was horrified at the enormous toll of life taken by the tornado in three of our western states, 827 people were killed. If prevention were possible, what gigantic steps the people of South Carolina would take to prevent a like tragedy, yet last year in this state 1,759 people died of tuberculosis, a preventable disease. How strange that we glance so placidly at these alarming figures and go our various ways regardless.

We have often heard the remark, "I hope that I never get tuberculosis." Let's stop rubbing the wishing stone and get to work on a sane basis removing the chances of infection.

We hope that every one will help get our 270 active cases that are in this county out to the clinic on next Saturday, April 4th.
