Full Text

Bridge Down.--On Monday evening last as Mr. Shaffer's dray was crossing the bridge over Yellow River at this place, it gave way about the center, and the entire cart way and eastern railing went down together, taking the horse and dray and two boys who were on it. The boys escaped all injury, and we believe in the whole trouble there was not as much as a trace broken. It was probably about 14 or 15 feet to the water, which is fortunately very low at this time. Marshal Wood was promptly at his post, ready to render every assistance in his power, and in a short time he had the bank cut away, so that teams could ford the river. Travellers and others need apprehend no danger in crossing at the places he has designated and cleared out.
