M. H. Moriarty of Crystal Falls announces himself as a candidate for state senator from this District, now composed of Alger, Baraga, Dickinson, Iron and Marquette Counties. On the basis of the call for the state and Congressional conventions the Senatorial convention will be composed of 30 delegates as follows:
Before the addition of Baraga, Marquette usually held a majority over the three other counties of the district, but the increase of three in Dickinson and the addition of Baraga alters the situation in this respect to the extent that Marquette is not the "whole thing" as heretofore. So far as Mr. Moriarty is concerned he is possessed of the "stuff" of which good senators are made of and has a number of admiring friends throughout the counties of the district. It is likely however, that he will have contestants in the field long before convention is called.-Negaunee Herald.
