CHARLO-The carnival which was held last Saturday evening in the Charlo gym brought in $306.59. $14.63 was amount collected from March of Dimes containers. Direct donations amounted to $12.00 and came from the following Leon Grange $5.00, DiAste Woman's Club $5.00. Charlo Junior Farmer's 4-H $1.00 and the Happy Home Makers 4-H $1.00.
Lee Biggerstaff and L. L. Fryberger acted as cashiers during the carnival.
Kate Bond, senior class candidate, was crowned queen of the carnival by chairman Mac Palmer. Each queen candidate was escorted to the front of the gym by a boy classmate while the orchestra played, "Dear Hearts and Gentle People."
Dancing followed the carnival at 10:30. Music was furnished by Don Dilworths orchestra until midnight and Mrs. Clyde Sollars furnished music until the close of the evening.
A show was enjoyed between dances with Mac Palmer as master of ceremonies. Pamela Teague sang two numbers and was accompanied by Patsy Roark at the piano. Jacqualine Schnase also sang two songs, one accompanied by Krissy Hendrickson and one accompanied by Mac Palmer. Patsy Roark and Betty Hendrickson sang a variety of songs accompanied by Krissy Hendrickson, Merle DeVoe did a juggling act with Patsy Roark accompanying him on the piano.
Mac Palmer March of Dimes chairman, said this week that he wishes to thank every one for their help in making the carnival a real success.
