London, July 5.-Of the eighteen
Turkish gunboats and monitors which
were on the Danube at the commence-
ment of the war six are in Sulina Bay
near Sulina; two have been destroyed,
three or four are water-bound near
Matchin, two are at Silistria, one at
Tortukai, two at Rustchuk and one at
Nikopolis. The latter is reported sur-
rounded by torpedoes and helpless. All
on the Danube will fall into the hands
of the Russians unless destroyed.

The Turkish account of the crossing
of the Danube at Sistova says there was
only one Turkish company at the point
where the Russians landed, and the lat-
ter had established their pontoons be-
fore a sufficient number of Turks could
be concentrated to repel them.

All able-bodied Bulgarians have been
summoned to present themselves at the
Russian camps to be organized into a
force for their own protection in future.

Two contractors have undertaken the
construction, within three months, of
railways connecting Reni, Ismail and
Bender with Galatz.
