UNION MEN ONLY ON FREE BRIDGE

The "open shop" principle on the free bridge will be discontinued next Monday.

Union workmen will be employed and Assistant Superintendents Robert Graham and W. N. Johnson will be retained in charge, according to a ruling made yesterday by the Arbitration Committee selected to settle bridge labor controversies.

No workmen who have been discharged will be re-employed, but union workmen who went on strike in sympathy with four union steamfitters who were discharged will be permitted to return to work, it was announced last night.
